Chapter 150: Chapter 142 Paracelsus_3

Yin Yan’s expression was ferocious. He gripped the Short Spear with his single arm, preparing to turn and call the Werewolf to help him deal with Huai Shi. But then he saw Lei Feizhou, who had already retreated to the end of the corridor. Seizing the moment Huai Shi’s attention was on Yin Yan, Lei Feizhou turned and fled.

He ran!

Yin Yan was stunned. He hadn’t expected Lei Feizhou to be so vicious. As he watched Huai Shi—face smeared with blood—walk step by step towards him, Yin Yan’s expression began to twitch. He rapidly retreated. ”I was deceived! It was all Lei Feizhou, he was the one scheming...”

”Then get the hell out of my way!”

Huai Shi didn’t wait for him to finish. He kicked Yin Yan aside, then used his Axe to cut down a Werewolf blocking his path. He followed the blood trail, relentless in his pursuit. If Yin Yan had truly committed to turning invisible and escaping, Huai Shi might not have been able to stop him. But no matter what, Lei Feizhou had to die.

He clutched the bloodstained dictionary to his chest and spat a mouthful of black blood onto the ground.

Amidst a HISSING sound, he dragged his Axe, walking step by step in the direction Lei Feizhou had fled.

”Since you’re already here, why leave in such a hurry?” he murmured softly.

Amidst the chaos, Lei Feizhou heard the relentless footsteps approaching from behind, his expression growing increasingly twisted.

Being incited by Yin Yan to attack Huai Shi immediately was a terrible move. He should have gathered more people. No, if someone hadn’t interfered, Huai Shi would have been doomed today.

This was his mission. He knew Huai Shi was his target even before boarding the ship, from the moment that old beggar handed him the Wanderer’s Coin.

But now, he was powerless against Huai Shi. Relying on that treacherous bastard Yin Yan would only get him sold out even more miserably. He had to ensure his own survival first...

But no matter how fast he ran, those staggering footsteps pursued him relentlessly, like a shadow.

Amidst hoarse gasps, the sound of an Axe Blade scraping against the floor resonated.

A straight gash was scored into the ground.

Finally, Huai Shi cornered him in an empty room.

Lei Feizhou surveyed the trashed room but found no sign of anyone else. His expression twitched. After a long moment, he finally understood—he had been abandoned.

Just as he had abandoned Yin Yan.

He turned and looked at Huai Shi, who stood in the doorway.

Huai Shi was looking back at him.

”Wait a minute!” Lei Feizhou’s expression shifted, a sliver of hope in his voice. ”We’re all on the same side... There’s no reason for infighting, right? If you kill me, the Stigma Genealogy won’t let you get away with it!”

”You’re right,” Huai Shi nodded, wiping blood from his Short Knife. He sighed. ”Actually, I didn’t plan on killing a teammate at first.”

In his pocket, the blood-soaked Wanderer’s Coin was scorching hot, radiating light like lava. On it, the Archangel glared angrily. Pain seeped continuously into his marrow, scorching his blood.

”Unfortunately,” Huai Shi said indifferently, ”I was forced.”

”I still have value! I have important intel for you!” Lei Feizhou’s eyes twitched. He spoke hurriedly, ”It’s about Yue Jun! Secrets about Yue Jun, and someone else... Spare my life, and I’ll tell you everything! And don’t you want to take down Pharaoh? I can help you! I still have several Uncontrollables, I can...”

”Remember what I told you?” Huai Shi raised his little finger, dug blood from his ear, then lifted his bloodstained face to look at Lei Feizhou. He repeated, enunciating each word, ”Someone. Always. Has. To. Pay. The. Price.”

He lifted the Axe handle, gripping it with both hands. Blue-purple veins throbbed painfully, standing out on his pale face and making it look even more savage.

”—I think now is that time.”

Lei Feizhou stumbled backward.

But in that instant, Huai Shi lunged forward.

As if flitting through darkness, he crossed several meters in a single stride, appearing before Lei Feizhou like a nightmare. The Axe Blade in his hands was already raised high, poised to chop down toward the Werewolf’s neck!

The time for judgment had arrived!

A savage look flashed across the Werewolf’s horrified face. He raised an arm to block the descending Axe Blade. At the same time, his hidden left hand whipped out a dagger, stabbing toward Huai Shi’s chest.

His skill was unimaginable.

After waiting for so long, the Werewolf had finally seized his only chance.

The stab was lightning fast, almost too quick to follow!

It was as if the intervening moments had been erased. The instant he gripped the dagger, it had already plunged into Huai Shi’s chest... lodging in the dictionary Lily had left him.

There, it became lost, snagged among the countless tiny annotations between the lines.

With a roar from Huai Shi, Lei Feizhou’s arm flew through the air.

Blood spurted.

Then, as Huai Shi pulled back, the Axe Blade swung upward, severing Lei Feizhou’s other arm.

Screaming in agony, Lei Feizhou staggered back.

Huai Shi advanced, swinging the Axe Blade through the shower of blood one last time, and brought it down!

A flash of metallic light.

There was a sound like thin paper tearing.

A head, still bearing the features of a Werewolf, flew up from the spray of blood, landing in the spreading pool on the ground beside the corpse.

Silence descended.

Huai Shi staggered. Exhausted, he bent over, trying to use the Axe handle to prop himself up.
