Alchemy Master

Chapter 1113, The Blood Boulder Platform

Translator: Silavin

The challenge issued by Li Shan to battle at the Blood Boulder Platform spread through Myriad Beasts City at a remarkable pace, filling every corner with excited chatter.

And amidst the speculation of many, a reply accepting the challenge had actually emerged from within the Vast Cloud Wine House.

Whether this news was true or false, no one could say, but in the dry, listless days of waiting for a Supreme Expert to take on a Disciple, it was undeniably a most entertaining affair.

Within the Myriad Beasts Domain, anyone with even a modest degree of experience had heard of Li Shan’s fearsome reputation.

Though he could not compare to the geniuses of the Top Tier Races, among the talented individuals of the continent, Li Shan was absolutely someone with both genuine strength and powerful backing.

That an unknown Junior had offended Li Shan over something as trivial as a single room. This news had many quietly clicking their tongues. In their estimation, precisely how thick-headed did one have to be to do something so brainless?

Some were contemptuous, while others wore expressions of curious interest, preparing to witness the rare spectacle of Li Shan actually making a move.

And as countless people craned their necks in anticipation, the day passed swiftly.

That morning, barely had the sky begun to pale when figures were already moving through the streets in great numbers, all moving in the same direction: the Blood Boulder Platform, situated to the northeast of Myriad Beasts City.

The Blood Boulder Platform had originally been called the Life and Death Platform. It was a place within Myriad Beasts City designated specifically for the resolution of personal disputes.

Over the long passage of years, the several hundred battle stages within had all been stained with blood many times over, and indeed, the colour of many stages had taken on a dark crimson hue that made one’s heart tremble.

And so, gradually, the name Blood Boulder Platform had come to replace Life and Death Platform altogether.

With a Supreme Expert’s acceptance of a Disciple drawing near, numerous young geniuses from every Major Race had gathered together, and within the Blood Boulder Platform it was a sea of heads, extraordinarily lively.

For if one could observe others in combat, many powerful experts could deduce their opponents’ methods, guarding against them in future.

Or, perhaps, one might invite those one considered a threat to becoming the Supreme Expert’s Disciple, and seize the opportunity to be rid of them.

Naturally, among the crowd were no shortage of those who wished to use such an occasion to make a name for themselves, intending to seize this opportunity to court attention.

And the matter of Li Shan’s challenge had pushed the atmosphere at the Blood Boulder Platform to a fever pitch.

An expert of Li Shan’s calibre, even among the First Tier Races, had many powerful experts privately considering him a formidable rival. And so, upon receiving the news, not merely idle onlookers but even many celebrated powerhouses had made their way to this place.

In the centre of the vast crowd stood a wide stage, its surface a deep crimson, as though it had been thoroughly soaked through with blood.

“To think we’d have the chance to see Li Shan make a move.”

“I hear that the nameless Junior has not yet accepted the invitation. Whether he dares to come at all remains an open question.”

Around the stage, watching the noisy, bustling scene, many were quietly clicking their tongues.

“Goodness, look up front, is that not Xiong Xiong of the Monster Bear Race? He’s appeared here as well!”

“Not just him. Look over there, Xiang Linzi of the Giant Elephant Race has come too.”

“They and Li Shan are evenly matched rivals. It has likely been some time since they’ve met. This time they’ve come to see just how much Li Shan has progressed, I’d wager.”

“They are the only ones who can truly compete with those monstrous geniuses for a place as the Supreme Expert’s Disciple!”

“That’s not necessarily so. I recall three years ago when Lord Mo Sheng said that to become his Disciple, strength alone would not be enough!”

Within the sea of people, from time to time someone would spot a renowned genius and let out a cry of astonishment.

*Whoosh!*

Amidst the deafening clamour, a figure suddenly came tearing through the air from a great distance, trailing a wild and fierce gust of wind, and in but a few flashes had appeared on the wide stage.

“Li Shan is here!”

At the sight of that figure, as imposing as an iron tower, a great roar erupted from around the stage, and gaze after gaze grew rather heated, for one of the main figures of the occasion had finally arrived.

Near the stage, several figures whose auras were no weaker than Li Shan’s, upon catching sight of him, narrowed their eyes ever so slightly, clearly rather surprised by the speed he had just casually displayed.

The Giant Spirit Race, though their brute strength was without equal, had always counted speed among their Race’s shortcomings. Yet the speed Li Shan had just demonstrated had apparently exceeded their expectations.

“It seems Li Shan has also had no small measure of good fortune these past few years.”

Below the stage, Xiang Linzi gave a cold laugh.

“*Hmph.* Mere trifles.” Said the man beside him, every bit as powerfully built as Li Shan, indeed somewhat broader, his voice carrying a cold snort.

Li Shan, for his part, seemed to have detected the voices below, and when he caught sight of those old rivals of his, his brow could not help but furrow slightly.

*Hmph!* He gave a cold snort inwardly. He understood perfectly well why these fellows had come, but he did not believe that dealing with a nameless Junior who had dared provoke him required him to exert himself fully.

Li Shan’s gaze then fixed upon a certain direction, as though waiting for something.

The noise continued without pause, and time drifted slowly by.

“What time is it now? Surely that so-called Junior hasn’t lost his nerve and decided not to show?”

“*Hmph.* Looks that way.”

As the wait dragged on, some had gradually grown rather impatient, and a stream of grumbling complaints rose steadily.

Until, when the Sun was already high overhead, the sound of wind being parted finally came from the distance, and then, under the watchful eyes of all, a slender figure swept toward them, accompanied by a bewitching and graceful silhouette at his side.

With the appearance of that figure, a hearty laugh utterly devoid of fear rang out through the air.

“Li Shan! This Young Master has come to accept your challenge!”

With the arrival of that figure, the sea of people surrounding the Blood Boulder Platform erupted into a ferment.

Countless gazes turned, filled with curiosity, toward the slender incoming figure, seemingly wondering whether this person who dared provoke Li Shan so was truly some three-headed, six-armed being.

What they saw was a handsome face wearing a faint smile, without a trace of apprehension, and such bearing immediately had more than a few people quietly nodding in appreciation.

However, those with sharper senses also detected that the aura emanating from Qin Yichen was nothing beyond that of an Early Stage Martial Ancestor.

Upon sensing an aura of no more than Early Stage Martial Ancestor, their gazes promptly turned to that of mockery.

“Fine bearing, to be sure. But how is this any different from seeking death?”

“Perhaps he simply wished to die heroically.”
